October Conference/Seminar for Hospice Specialists Agenda

Wednesday October 8  

10am -15 pm with a break for buffet lunch.   Pre-conference workshop lead by Professor Lynn McPherson for Head clinicians from Hospices; “Pain Control & Symptom Management in the modern era.”   

Thursday October 9 

World Hospice Seminar opens.

9am -10am       Registration

10am                Welcome and Introductions. Contributions from VIPs to be nominated. St-Petersburg Government, City Medical Authorities, Association, the Trust

11.15am           Coffee break

11.30 am           Keynote speech… Dr Zoya Sophieva.. The need for a Russian speaking Hospice Association. Invited contributions - Pavlov University, Moscow Sechenov Institute. Debate open to the floor.

1pm                 Lunch break.

13.45pm            Under the subject of "Pain Control ",Professor Lynn McPherson will give a keynote speech on world understanding of the ethics & practice of pain control in End of Life Care.

14.45pm           Panel Discussion on Pain control

15.30pm           Tea Break

15.45pm           Launch of Palliative Care Toolkit ( Russian edition)

16.30pm           End of day's proceedings

Friday October 10

 Visits to hospices – Lakhta, Kolpino, St.-Olga’s, Viborgski.

Saturday October 11

10 am    A Closed meeting of the Committee of the Association and invited participants with representatives of the St Petersburg Healthcare Trust & International Hospice & Palliative Care Associations to agree future plans and cooperation.

7pm                 World Hospice Day Concert

Sunday October 12 Church Service at Lachta followed by celebratory meal.
